Storyline:
The film begins with Vasudeva Shenoy (Anoop Menon), a police officer by profession, proposing marriage to his friend Lakshmi (Lena), against the strong opposition of Vasudeva Shenoy’s mother. Meanwhile, Kunjunni Menon (Santhosh Keezhattoor), a thief disguised as a police inspector, falls in love with Lakshmi. Kunjunni Menon then convinces Lakshmi and her family to consent to the marriage. Lakshmi later finds out that her husband cheated on her. However, Lakshmi & Kunjunni claim that they are in a friendly marriage as she gives birth to Adithyan (Dulquer Salmaan).On the same day, Vikraman (Unni Mukundan), the son of Vasudeva Shenoya and his new wife, was also born. Laksmi gives birth to two daughters. Kunjunni is caught by Shenoy after a robbery and dragged past his son (Adityan) in a jeep. Adithyan becomes depressed and refuses to accept his father.
Kunjunni, unable to face her son, commits suicide.Adityan (Dulquer Salmaan), Vikraman (Unni Mukundan) and Deepika Pai (Namitha Pramod) become friends as classmates and the story moves into adulthood. Despite many difficulties, Adithyan turns into an intelligent man. He falls in love with Deepika and she reciprocates his feelings. As events progress, Adithyan and Vikraman argue over the choice of AI (police). Shenoy accuses Adithyan of a crime he did not commit, forcing Adithyan to withdraw from AI selection.Adithyan escapes and returns a few years later. With the help of Lokesh IAS (Nivin Pauly), Adithyan becomes an IPS officer and the new Deputy Police Commissioner in Kochi, Kerala. Vikraman takes the lead as the AI and Deepika join Adithyan. The film ends with Adithyan and his family standing up to the people who once mocked him as “the son of a thief”.
