Storyline:
Ahaan Awasthi and Ruhi Roongta are college sweethearts who have cruised through life, together and reached their mid 20s; a time of life where uncertainty reigns, aspirations are beautifully deluded and romance can make or break. Ahaan is lucky to have Ruhi – the girl who believes in him, more than he ever could. And this threatens to be the undoing of their perfect relationship. Born to the renowned classical singer Kashish Awashti, Ahaan trained under her and aspired to take her legacy forward. However, her early demise left Ahaan without a teacher and more importantly, without a pillar. Ahaan built his entire identity and his future on a dream that his mother saw for him. His musical achievements were all Ruhi could talk about and college festivals couldn’t get enough of him. But as time passed, his mother’s voice diminished, faith took a backseat and the realities of the real world became predominant as he is faced with how mediocre he can be in a world where 10,000 Ahaans have a better voice. His happiness begins to dip drastically and the only thing that makes him smile is Ruhi.
So, Ahaan decides to quit. He decides that routine life, a stable income and Ruhi – that is all he will live for. He decides to run – – nay – – go away to London for a 2 year course in Business Management. He promises his father to be of value once he is back and join him. His father, Kaushik, is unable to process his departure from his core but lacks the ability to comfort his son. However, when Ruhi finds out, she calls him out on his bluff, labelling him a quitter. She worries that he’ll drop her as easily as he has dropped the one thing he loved. In order to prove himself, Ahaan proposes marriage before he leaves for London. He is beyond thrilled at being her husband and doesn’t mind a long distance marriage. He convinces Ruhi that he just wants the best future with her as all his happiness comes from her. Ruhi believes this to be love, and agrees. Ahaan and Ruhi decide to take both their families for a weekend getaway after breaking the news to them.
